BioEden Animal Care: Food Bowls and Habitat Checks

Animal-care confusion usually comes from mixing three different problems: the placement item is missing, the feeder is empty, or a species goal demands habitat conditions you have not built. Keep those separate. Official mechanic advice here is pre-release demo context; player reports are real but their exact builds are unknown.

Find the food bowl

Goal: locate the carnivore food bowl when the feeder factory exists but the bowl is not obvious.

Community report — build unknown: one player found the carnivore food bowl in the animals menu after having the same issue. Another player reported that saving and loading was necessary in their case.

Safe order:

  1. Open the animals menu and look for the food bowl there.
  2. If it remains unavailable, save normally and reload the game once.
  3. If it is still missing, stop and record your current objective/build before trying random placement steps.

Limits: the original poster did not confirm which suggestion solved their case. We do not present either report as an official unlock requirement or guaranteed fix.

Habitat checks

Goal: check the conditions attached to an animal or species task without assuming a hidden numeric table.

Safe checks:

  1. Read the species goal text and note the named biome or condition.
  2. Look at the devices and research available in that biome.
  3. Compare heat/humidity or related habitat controls only where the game exposes them for your current dome setup.
  4. If food is not arriving, return to the feeder/orb supply check instead of guessing animal stats.

Expected observation: you can tell whether the task asks for a new object, an environmental condition, or a supply-chain problem.

Limits: we do not publish a universal animal requirements table yet. The current evidence does not support exact temperature/humidity targets, species stats, or a one-size-fits-all habitat recipe.

Unresolved biome goals

Goal: respond when a species goal points to a biome where you do not have a dome.

Current status: Unresolved.

A launch-window player using the Technology Guild reported placing the second dome before receiving the next biome task, then being asked for a species tied to a biome without a dome. A developer asked which guild the player was using and said fulfilled objectives should complete automatically, but there was no confirmed follow-up fix in that thread.

Community suggestion — not confirmed: create a temporary mini-biome inside an existing dome with environmental devices. The poster discussed adjusting heat and humidity and said they would try it, but did not report success. Exact device counts or targets were not given.

Safe advice:

  1. Do not delete your save or restart solely from this thread.
  2. Re-read the objective, confirm whether it can already be fulfilled, and record your guild and current biome setup.
  3. If you experiment with a mini-biome, treat it as a test in your current save—not a proven repair.
  4. Use the linked Steam discussion or official community/Discord for a current response.

Burrow-management note: another player suggested the recycle button and double-click interaction for removing/recycling an object. That may help with placement cleanup, but this thread does not prove it is a safe universal animal-move procedure.
